Star wing Jamie Ahale set for encore in 2026

Kilsyth junior Jamie Ahale has re-signed with the Cobras, looking to build on a spectacular 2025 NBL1 season.

Ahale - a product of the SEBC Saints - played a starring role for the Cobras in 2025, leading the team in scoring (17.5ppg) and three point makes (3.5 3FG), and ranking third in assists (3.0apg). After missing nine games at the start of the season with a knee injury, the sharpshooter return with a vengeance, averaging 20 points per contest over the final nine regular season games, and fuelling the Cobras hot streak  which saw them close the season with six consecutive victories and secure a top three finish.

Highlighting Ahale’s late season eruption was a career-high 45 point masterpiece - including eight three pointers - against the Dandenong Rangers on June 28, marking a single game club scoring record in the NBL1 era. Just two games later, Ahale drained another eight triples en-route to a 35 point explosion on the road against the Casey Cavaliers, proving that he’s one of the nation’s most dangerous perimeter shooters.

Whilst his blistering perimeter shooting came as no surprise, Ahale began to expand both his off the bounce game and his playmaking ability, with his growing skillset positioning the fiery competitor for another standout campaign in 2026.
