Zach Moult has signed as the VYC Cobra Men’s Head Coach for the 2020 Big-V season.
Moult makes his VYC debut following four seasons as the Cobras Under 18-1 Boys Head Coach, leading the team to the state’s best regular season record, a Final Four berth in the Victorian Championship (VC) division, and a top-five finish at the National Junior Classic in 2019. Moult guided the U18-1 Boys to a Silver Medal at the 2018 National Junior Classic, and the U18 Boys to a State Championship silver medal in 2016.
Moult also served as a Development Coach for the Victoria Metro U18 Boys earlier this year, with the team winning gold at the Australian Junior Championships in April.
Kilsyth Manager of Basketball Operations, Mark Watkins, is excited to see Moult step-up to lead the VYC Men in 2020, with his appointment highlighting the strength of the Junior Cobras program and coaching pathway.
“I am very pleased to announce Zach as our VYC Men’s Head coach for 2020,” Watkins said.
“This is reward for all Zach’s hard work and success with our Under 18 Boys teams – he deserves this appointment and it’s the next step in his coaching pathway.”
“His job will be to prepare the next group of VYC Men to hopefully play for our NBL1 team in years to come.”
Former VYC championship-winning player Zac Wuersching will join Moult as the VYC Men’s Assistant Coach. The Cobra Men are set to tip-off their preseason campaign in late October, with the Big-V regular season tipping-off in mid-March, 2020.
