The Workforcexs D League Lady COBRAS had a bye last weekend but have secured a playoff position while the Workforcexs D League COBRA men travelled to Bendigo and defeated the Braves 82-57.
With Joel Naburgs rested due to injury Cam Johnson (23pts) and Liam McInerney (17pts, 10rbds) led the Cobras to their 15th win of the season. The Cobras are locked into third position on the ladder and will take on their potential semi final opponent in Sandringham this weekend.
The Sabres and Nunawading Spectres are locked in a battle for first and second place with Kilsyth scheduled to take on whoever finishes second in their semi final. Sandringham have had the wood over Kilsyth defeating them twice in 2009 and as the only team the Cobras are yet to beat, Coach Rod Popp will be keen to pick up the win to build his players confidence going into the post season.
The D League Lady Cobras will be raring to get back on the floor after a Round 19 bye. Like the men, they are locked into a finals position in 4th but are unsure who they will play in their semi final.
Nunawading, Dandenong and Knox are all battling for 1st through 3rd. The girls will also take on Sandringham today and will feel confident of another win after already beating the Sabres twice in 2009.
