Star point guard Adi Tomada has re-signed with the Kilsyth Cobras for the 2024 NBL1 season.

Tomada enjoyed a standout 2023 season with the Cobras, leading the team in assists (4.6apg) and steals (1.4spg), ranking second in scoring (19.5ppg) and three pointers made (2.0 3PM), while finding his way to the free throw line at the tenth highest rate in the league. The epitome of consistency, Tomada eclipsed the 20 point mark on 11 occasions, including a season-high 28 on the road against the Ringwood Hawks in Round 4, while his 11 assist performance against Frankston in Round 13 matched his career best as he led the Cobras to an upset road win over the Blues.

The Maroondah Magic junior once again proved to be a handful for opposing defences, possessing an uncanny ability to get to the rim, play through contact and finish in traffic over bigger defenders in a variety of ways. Coupled with his ability to create open shots for teammates, Tomada again showed that he is one of the NBL1’s elite point guards, both within the South Conference and nationally. Tomada’s outstanding season also saw him take home Team MVP honours for 2023, as he continues to build on a stellar start to his NBL1 career.

A key leader both in the locker room and on the floor, Tomada’s impact on the Kilsyth roster has been undeniable over the past three seasons, and figures to be a central piece in a Cobra group that is set to return to postseason contention in 2024.
