Kilsyth Cobras kick started their 2012 campaign with a victory over Mt Gambier, thanks largely to the efforts of first year import Garfield Blair. Playing 37mins Blair produced a league best 33pts@48%, 5 rebounds and 1 steal. Blair started the game at a blistering pace with 12 first quarter points to help his team establish a comfortable 8pt. The Pioneers fought hard all game and Blair hit a three pointer with seconds remaining to give the Cobras the win.
