Zach Malvik (26.5 ppg, 2 apg) will again be called on for a stellar performance at both ends of the floor as he takes on Frankston’s standout import Rob Kampman (26.3 ppg, 10.3 rpg) in a dual set to see who is the leagues most exciting new import.

Fellow Import Joe Werner (18.5 ppg, 18 rpg) will also have his hands full as he takes on Frankston legend and former MVP David Gruber (25.1ppg, 13.9 rpg) in the battle of the bigs. Werner struggled at times against Knox import Lester Strong two weeks ago and will be looking to rebound against a player of Gruber’s calibre.

Both Kilsyth and Frankston are coming off wins over the Canberra Gunners last weekend with the blues defeating them on Sunday after the Cobras dealt with them Saturday night.  With Kilsyth, Frankston and Geelong the early South Conference leaders this is an important game that will go along way to determining final positions come finals time.

Coach Grant Wallace will be looking for another strong game from Malvik and Werner’s supporting cast who have been putting up great numbers in 2008. Gerard Leonard (15.8 ppg, 4.8rpg), Jon Croft (11ppg), Adam Jackson (10.3ppg), DJ Taylor (9.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg) and Jon Lee (9.7ppg, 3.3 apg, 5rpg) have all enjoyed the extra space created by their imports.

Following the game Wednesday Night the Cobras will travel to Brisbane Saturday to take on the Southern Districts Spartans in a double header with the Lady Cobras.

Limited player sponsorships are still available for season 2008, for more information call 9728 1033.
