The Swinburne Lady Cobras (6-1) currently sit on top of the SEABL Ladder followed by Brisbane (6-1) whom they beat earlier in the Season.  This weekend Kilsyth will take on another fancied rival in Ballarat. The Lady Miners (5-2) are currently sitting in 4th position on the ladder which should guarantee an enthralling match for all in attending.

Kilsyth have played well over the past two weeks picking up two wins despite missing Deanna Smith (Albury), Ellie Manou (Sandringham) and Erica McMenamin (Albury/Sandringham).

Ballarat have quietly rolled through the opening rounds of the season with little fanfare but in the SEABL Game of the Week they will no longer fly under the radar.

The Lady Miners feature WNBL stars Rachel Jarry and Amy Lewis as well the SEABL legend Karen Ashby, mixed with an experienced group of locals Ballarat will be a tough challenge for the Lady Cobras.

Rumour has it the Swinburne Lady Cobras have filled their final restricted player position during the week and as long as all the required paperwork is complete should have her on the roster come Sunday.

Former AIS and Vic Metro team mates Alice Kunek and Rachel Jarry will surely be one of the most intriguing match ups of the game and could go a long way to deciding the result.

The wild card in this game could be Ellie Manou – who after turning 21 this past week is ready for a big game against the Lady Miners.

Tip off is scheduled for 12.30pm – all mums will receive free entry.

The Swinburne Cobras (7-4) dropped to second place on the East Conference ladder last week following an 82-64 loss to Sandringham in DJ Taylor’s 400th game.  Taylor will be hoping he and his team mates can turn around their home form in his 401st game.

The Swinburne Cobras are 5-1 on the road this season and just 2-3 at home adding some additional pressure on Kilsyth roster to move back up the ladder with a win against Ballarat.

After defeating the Miners 77-61 on the road earlier in the Season, the Swinburne Cobras will go into the match full of confidence know a win would be a clean sweep of their Conference foes.

Ballarat (5-6) have quietly moved in the 4th place on the East Conference ladders after defeating both Brisbane and Frankston last weekend. With talented imports Drake Reed and Jamal Brown as well as experience players Daniel Joyce and Tarriq Naqqash the Miners will surely take it up to the Swinburne Cobras.

The game is expected to be a defensive battle with Quincy Henderson’s ability to shut down highly touted import Drake Reed being the key match-up.

The Swinburne Kilsyth Cobras will tip off at 2.30pm with all mum’s receiving free entry into the match.
