After a disappointing loss to Frankston in Round 1, the Workforcexs Lady Cobras bounced back against the Ballarat Nuggets to win by 16 points.
Rebekah O’Donnell (16pts, 14rbds) Jess Murty (14pts) and Brittany Renton (13pts, 14rbds) were outstanding for Kilsyth as the team used their advantage in the paint to record the win.
The Kilsyth guards also contributed well restricting the explosive Nuggets at the defensive end, with only one player (Courtney Williamson, 15pts) scored in double figures.
The Workforcexs Lady Cobras are back at home next Saturday night 24 April 2010 taking on the Leagues new team the Bendigo Braves at 6.15pm.
In the second game of the night Steven Robinson (15pts), Will Sinclair (12pts, 9 rbds), Adam Knott (11pts, 16rbds) and Josh Flink (10pts) all scored in double figures but it wasn’t enough as the Workforcexs Cobras went down by five points.
Joshua Wilcher (26pts) and Shaun Bruce (23pts) were both outstanding for Ballarat but despite their big efforts the Cobras still had a chance to win the match.
Kilsyth led by four points with three minutes to play and looked to be in a good position to take the game but they were unable to score in the final minutes as Ballarat finished the match with a 9-0 run and the win.
The Workforcexs Cobras are back at home next Saturday night 24 April 2010 against the Bendigo Braves, tip off is scheduled for 8.15pm.
