The Maroondah Journal and Yarra Ranges Journal are free community titles distributed across the Yarra Ranges Shire and City of Maroondah to over 52,000 homes and business’ every week. We support a number of events, clubs and grassroots organisations each year in order to engage the communities we serve. At Maroondah/Yarra Ranges Journal we’re proud supporters of Kilsyth Basketball and look forward to a successful partnership together.

The Maroondah Journal and Yarra Ranges Journal are recognised and respected as important voices for the communities in which they serve. The new alliance with Kilsyth Basketball will allow both organisations to reach their intended audiences and leverage off each other via branding and coverage opportunities.

There is a tremendous synergy between Kilsyth Basketbal and Maroondah/ Yarra Ranges Journal, the partnership will help to grow the game at grassroots level, and in return increase their local exposure and readership base.

Allan Brodie, Fairfax Community Network (publishers of Maroondah/ Yarra Ranges Journal) Marketing Manager understands community sport and is proud to be involved with Kilsyth Basketball, “Our focus has been to not only put something back into the community, but more importantly provide us with an opportunity to humanise our publications to our loyal readers by giving them a touch point at events. This association has often added credibility to the event, and in most cases increased the number of attendees year on year.”

“We also understand the challenges that face grass roots sports, especially those that perhaps are not in the media spotlight. To this end our Community Sports Star Awards which have been in existence for 35 years and have been an integral part of our publications, have been revamped this year culminating in an end of year function, giving local sports people the opportunity to not only win the yearly award, but also be featured in any one of our 33 publications week to week.”

“Our association with local sporting clubs whether that be basketball, netball or AFLprovides a perfect link back to our Sports Star Awards. Our association with these clubs gives them an avenue to seek new sponsors and retain old ones. Whenever we identify a team, an event or an organisation that we want to be associated with, one critical pre requisite is that we are seen as partners, not just media supporters. We look forward to working with Kilsyth Basketball over the 2010 season and beyond.”

Kilsyth Basketball Business Development Managers is excited by the potential of this partnership, “Yarra Ranges Journal and Maroondah Journal are outstanding local publications, we look forward to this partnership helping to continue to grow our profile and communicate with the community.
