Six females referees Riley Brown, Kym Dundas, Michelle Letts, Kirsty Walker, Shannon Gerritzen, Keisha Nicholas selected for the Kilsyth DIVAS program and two male referees Ethan Clarke and Ben Karwan will be joined by referees all over Australia on the tour.  Joining them as a special guest on the tour will be Kilsyth Referees Advisor Sharon Arnold.

The DIVAS program has been developed as part of a women’s leadership grant from the Australian Sports Commission and involves 15 local female referees.  Each referee has a mentor, who were chosen as a result of their success as a female referee.  The mentors provides the young referees with advice and guidence while the referee participates in 11 workshops on a range of topics. 

As part of the program six participants were selected to represent the Association and the program on the Zebra Tour.

The Tour will involve refereeing the non Championship divisions of the Australian School Championships, with experienced referee coaches providing feedback and coaching as required, along with formalised educational sessions. This is a fantastic opportunity for referees to develop their skills and meet other referees in a friendly, fun and exciting camp style environment.

The objective of the Development Camp is to provide unique education and training for developing referees and combining this with hands on experiences and coaching while officiating quality standard games in the Australian School Championships.

The program will involve formal theoretical education sessions on Saturday evening and all day Sunday, and then follow up with practical expert coaching during Australian School Championships games.
