Papavs helped the Lady Cobras to a 1-1 weekend and helped her team remain in fourth position on the ladder. Papvas recorded 17pts@47%, 9rebs, 4ass and 3stls in her teams 67-49 home court victory against the Lady Blues on Saturday night. The following day against arch rivals Nunawading, Clare produced a career high 32pts@58% including 4 three pointers, 4rebs, 1ass and 1stl. It was unfortunately not enough for her team and the Lady Cobras lost 64-84. Clare started the game at a blistering pace scoring 11 of the teams 15 first quarter points, and scored 43% of her teams remaining score.
Other notable performances were;
Catherine Guest continues to impress the local Launceston fans with 17pts@88%, 11rebs, 2ass and 3blks. If she continues to produce solid numbers she will be in line for the Australian U/21 Player of the Year.
Southern District Lady Spartans recorded a 1-2 result on the Apple Isle, Shona O’Bree had a consistent weekend averaging 14pts, 7rebs and 4ass.
Knox Raiders Chantella Perera recorded 27pts@73%, 5rebs, 5ass and 2stls, helping her team to an easy 87-59 victory against Albury/Wodonga.
Kristen Veal helped the NW Tasmania Thunder to a 1-1 weekend averaging 19pts, 14rebs, 5.5ass and 3stls. Veal had 24pts@62%, 12rebs, 6ass and 5stls in the Lady Thunder 57-49 victory on Sunday.
Julie Ofsoski showed she is back to full fitness, playing all 40mins and recording 22pts@62% and 9rebs in the Lady Blues 49-67 loss to Kilsyth.
