Kilsyth Junior Mitch Dielemans has re-signed with the NBL1 Cobra Men for the 2023 season.
Dielemans was a key contributor to the Cobras in 2022, providing a big spark off the bench with his lightning speed and electric playmaking. The Fosters Phantoms junior averaged 7.4 points, 2.0 assists and a team-best 90.7% shooting from the foul line, scoring in double-digits in seven regular season outings – including a 19 points in 19 minutes in a clutch home win over the Melbourne Tigers. Dielemans displayed a knack for making big plays in crunch time, with his uncanny scoring ability and elite free throw shooting seeing him close out a number of tight games.
The Cobras super-sub took his clutch play to another level in the postseason, delivering the best game of his young NBL1 career as he led Kilsyth to an 19-point comeback semi final win at home against the Bendigo Braves. Dielemans dropped a team-high 25 points to go along with eight rebounds and five assists in the Cobras thrilling semi final victory, drilling a deep game-sealing triple late in overtime in game – and individual performance – that will be remembered for years to come.

For those familiar with Dielemans’ game, his breakout playoff performance comes as no surprise; he previously led the U20 Cobra Men and VYC Men to championships, led the VYC league in scoring twice, and was an All-Star Five selection in three straight years. And with titles at every stop along his hoops journey, Dielemans will look to add yet another to his resume in 2023.
