Cobras junior Josh Duach has received a scholarship to attend the NBA Global Academy in Canberra.
NBA Global Academy is an elite basketball training centre at Basketball Australia’s (BA) Centre of Excellence at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra, Australia. NBA Global Academy is a partnership with BA and serves as the NBA’s hub for top male and female prospects from outside the U.S. Up to twelve elite athletes attend NBA Global Academy each year and train under the supervision of NBA-hired coaches and in collaboration with BA’s Centre of Excellence team and coaches.
The opportunity to attend the prestigious Global Academy is the latest of a long list of accolades for the SCYC Scorpions junior, with Duach set to attend the University of Iona later this year to play under legendary head coach, Rick Pitino. Duach, a member of the VYC Cobra Men’s team, will represent Victoria at the Under 20 Australian Championships in May, and is currently a member the Australian Under 19 national team squad, where he’ll look to represent the green and gold at the upcoming FIBA U19 World Cup.
