Basketball is officially set to return to Kilsyth, with our Junior Domestic competitions set to resume on July 20.
Aligned with Basketball Victoria’s Return to Sport Guidelines – COVID-19 Recovery Plan, Kilsyth Basketball Junior Domestic indoor competitions, programs and trainings will officially resume under BV’s ‘Orange-50’ level of reactivation. Forecasted return dates are as follows:
Orange-50 Level Return Guidelines
The Orange-50 Level return guidelines places limitations around number of players, spectators, arrival and departure times and other areas, to ensure that the risk of COVID-19 infection is minimised during the return phase.
You can find the full, up-to-date guidelines here.
Fixture Changes
Under the Orange-50 Level guidelines, we must allow for adequate time sanitise courts and basketballs at the completion of each game. As a result, you will see changes to our regular competition start times, which will include an extended break between time slots.
PlayHQ Registration Platform
We have now migrated to the PlayHQ system – Basketball Victoria’s new membership and competitions platform. All players, coaches and teams must register as a member on the PlayHQ system prior to joining a team. Participants will only need to pay once when they register per 365-day period, irrespective of how many teams or associations they play in.
You must register for a PlayHQ account prior to stepping on the court.
Stay Safe
Whilst we are thrilled about our impending return to basketball, we must stress that the battle against COVID-19 is not over. All social distancing and hygiene practices must continue to be followed within our venues to ensure our stadiums and competitions can not only re-open, but remain open.
