NBL1 championship winning coach Sam Woosnam will return to lead the Cobra Women for the 2020 season.
Woosnam returns on the second year of her two-year contract and her seventh season overall with the Cobras, during which she has enjoyed unrivalled success in the SEABL and NBL1 competitions. Since taking the reigns of the Cobra Women in 2014, Woosnam has led the team to three SEABL/NBL1 Grand Final appearances – headlined by winning this years inaugural NBL1 title – and a further two Preliminary Final berths. Woosnam’s teams have won over 76 percent of their games since 2014, amassing an incredible 102-32 record over that span.
The championship winning coach is thrilled to return to Kilsyth for the 2020 season, with hopes of returning the majority of this year’s roster to take aim at back-to-back titles.
“I’m excited to be back at Kilsyth for my seventh season and the chance to go back-to-back,” Woosnam said.
“I’m looking forward to seeing how the NBL1 develops in its second season and really looking forward to being a part of it again.
“Hopefully we will be able to retain all of our players from last season – it’s my goal to have the group together again.”
