The Kilsyth Cobras make their much anticipated NBL1 debut this weekend, heading to Knox to take on the long-time rival Raiders on Saturday, before playing host to the Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence on Sunday in their 2019 Home Opener.
Saturday night marks the rebirth of one of Australia’s most heated and spectacular basketball rivalries, with the Cobras set to square-off against the Raiders for the first time in five years at the State Basketball Centre. The famed Battle of the Ashes returns, with Saturday the first of two rounds to decide on the trophy’s winner for 2019. The Ashes will be awarded following the Cobras-Raiders June 15 doubleheader here at Kilsyth, with the head-to-head record over the four Men’s and Women’s games deciding on this years winner. Saturday’s action tips-off at 6pm with the Women, with the Men to follow at 8pm.
On Sunday our Cobras make their 2019 NBL1 Home Debut when they take on the Basketball Australia CoE. With both our Men’s and Women’s teams looking to establish themselves as championship contenders, we need your help to get our 2019 NBL1 campaign off to a big start! All the action tips-off at 12pm with our Women, followed by the Men at 2pm.
