Kilsyth junior Bek O’Donnell has signed with the Kilsyth Cobra Women for their debut season in the NBL1.

O’Donnell returns to Kilsyth following a three year hiatus, playing 121 SEABL games for the Cobras between 2010 and 2015. The agile forward was a member of Kilsyth SEABL championship runner-up team in 2015 – where she played a key role off the bench – and gives the Cobras a versatile front court asset capable of attacking off the dribble and guarding multiple positions.

Lady Cobras head coach Sam Woosnam is pleased to have O’Donnell back in the fold for the Cobras inaugural season in the NBL1, and believes that despite a lengthy absence, the veteran forward is set to make a significant impact in 2019.

“I’m happy to have Bek back in the program – she’s a homegrown player and it’s very important have that for our pathway at Kilsyth,” Woosnam said.

“Bek is super athletic and has so much she can offer our team. She has returned as a more mature player and I am looking forward to seeing her back at Kilsyth and with added confidence, and I feel she will be a great addition to our team.”

O’Donnell joins Klara Wischer as the Cobras first two frontcourt signings, giving Woosnam and co. plenty of flexibility up at the power forward position.
