Cobra Hamish MacDonald is college-bound, signing with Baker University in Kansas, USA.
MacDonald – an SEBC Saints junior – enjoyed an impressive 2019 and start to 2020 on court, helping lead the VYC Cobra Men to a postseason appearance last season and the U21 Cobras to the Eltham-Dandenong Tournament championship in January.
The athletic, versatile 6-7 MacDonald was rewarded for his standout play with the Cobras, earning a place on the Victorian Metro A team – alongside fellow Cobras Roosevelt Williams Jr and David Okwera – which placed fifth at the U20 National Championships in Canberra back in February.
MacDonald’s next journey takes him to Baker University, located one hour outside of Kansas City in midwest USA. The ‘Wildcats’ compete in the NAIA’s Heart of America Athletic Conference, where former Cobra Stephen O’Brien also played his collegiate basketball (at rival Benedictine College).
MacDonald will join fellow Cobras Jamie Ahale (University of Illinois Chicago) and Josh Kunen (University of San Francisco) in the US later this year as they embark on their respective 2021 collegiate seasons.
You can follow Hamish’s progress on the Baker Wildcats official website.
